A Pair of Suspects Charged for Jail Killing of Ex-Lostprophets Vocalist Ian Watkins

Two individuals now face murder charges in the wake of the jailhouse death of ex-Lostprophets frontman and convicted child sex offender Ian Watkins.

Rashid Gedel, 25, and Samuel Dodsworth, 43 have both been charged with murder and are scheduled to appear in Leeds magistrates’ court on Monday morning, per law enforcement officials.

Watkins, forty-eight, was undergoing a 29-year incarceration at HMP Wakefield, plus an additional six years on license, after pleading guilty to multiple sexual crimes including the effort to sexually assault an infant.

Watkins was arrested after the execution of a substance-related warrant at his Pontypridd home on 21 September 2012, when a large number of computers, mobile phones and storage devices were confiscated.
